Before you're able to download your Xero payroll file you just need to first add your employees bank details into Xero.

Doing this will then automatically populate the payroll file when an employee is due to be paid.

To add their bank details you have to first:

  1. Go to Payroll > Employees and select and employee
  2. Now in the employee navigation bar select Pay and select Electronic Transfer
  3. In the bank detail inputs add the bank details of the employee and save
