Before you're able to download your Xero payment file you just need to first add your contacts bank details into Xero.
Doing this will then automatically populate the payment file with your contacts bank details when a payment batch is created containing them.
- First you need to go to your contacts in Xero and select the contact you want to add bank details too.
- In the top right hand corner you want to click edit.
- Under the batch payments input you want to enter the sort code in the contact Bank Account Number field. The sort code should be entered first, then the account number. You can use spaces or hyphens.
- Add the contact name to Bank Account Name. If the contact name is ABC Furniture this is what you should use in this field.
