Local payments
Some countries have local payment systems. Where available, we use the country's equivalent of the Faster Payment Scheme.
Telleroo automatically processes these payments when you are looking to send a local currency to its local destination. No manual changes are needed.
For example, for US Dollar payments sent to USA bank accounts use ACH as the payment method.
SEPA payments
What is a SEPA payment?
SEPA is an international payment method for the Euro currency. It's similar to a Faster Payment, making it easy and convenient to send Euro payments across Europe. It's also considered a local payment method.
When will I need to send a SEPA payment?
When you create an international payment in Telleroo and select EUR along with a country from the SEPA list, we will automatically process it as a SEPA payment. No manual changes are needed.
For example if you want to send EUR to a recipient in Norway, we'll automatically apply SEPA as the payment method.
How can I create SEPA payments in Telleroo?
To send SEPA payments, Telleroo converts your GBP into EUR. You’ll know exactly how much GBP will be converted for your payment, along with Telleroo's fees, before you approve and send the payment.
How long does it take for a SEPA payment to reach the recipient?
SEPA payments usually take 1 working day. However, it is possible that they can take up to 2 working days.
SWIFT payments
What is a SWIFT payment?
SWIFT is a payment method that allows you to send different currencies around the world.
When will I need to send a SWIFT payment?
Telleroo automatically processes SWIFT payments when you are looking to send a currency outside of its local destination. No manual changes are needed.
For example if you want to send US Dollars to China, or Euros to South Africa, we'll automatically apply SWIFT as the payment method.
How can I create a SWIFT payment in Telleroo?
To send a SWIFT payment, Telleroo converts your GBP into the desired currency. You’ll know exactly how much GBP will be converted for your payment, along with Telleroo's fees and a SWIFT transaction cost, before you approve and send the payment.
The £15 SWIFT transaction cost will be included on your usual monthly invoice. This is to pay the corresponding bank fees upfront, thus reducing the likelihood of any bank taking money from the transfer along the way.
How long does it take for a SWIFT payment to reach the recipient?
SWIFT payments usually take 1–6 working days to reach their destination, however, it is possible that they can take longer due to time differences between the sending and receiving country, or multiple intermediary banks involved with delivering your money.
